Mike Griffiths, DProf, DMS, CRT, FCMI, AAPWCA

CEO & President

Dr. Griffiths is a seasoned medical device industry executive who has been the CEO & President of AOTI since 2006. He brings with him over 30 years of experience gained from a wide variety of management positions around the globe working with both start-ups and conglomerates alike. Prior to joining AOTI, Dr. Griffiths was the co-founder and CEO of eVent Medical Ltd., a start-up venture in the critical care ventilation field, which was sold 2006 to the Kobayashi pharmaceutical company of Japan. Prior to eVent Medical, Dr. Griffiths held various senior management positions at Mallinckrodt Inc., Nellcor Puritan Bennett Inc., and Hudson RCI, amongst others. Dr. Griffiths is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, holds a Doctorate in Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Middlesex University, London, United Kingdom, a post-graduate Diploma in Management from Kingston University, United Kingdom, and several further engineering and clinical credentials, including that of a Certified Respiratory Therapist.

Anthony Moffatt, FCCA

CFO & Vice President of Customer Service

Anthony joined AOTI in January of 2009 as Director of Finance and Customer Service. He now serves as the company’s CFO and Vice President of Customer Service, overseeing both the USA and Irish finances and back office functions for the company. Prior to AOTI, Anthony spent 5 years as Financial Controller of eVent Medical Ltd and also worked for a number of years in an accounting practice in Dublin. From an academic perspective, Anthony has a degree in business studies and is a qualified ACCA accountant.

Robbie Walsh, MS

Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Robbie has 14 years of experience in the medical device industry, all of which has been in his specialist field of quality assurance and regulatory affairs. As such, he has acquired a considerable wealth of knowledge and expertise on a worldwide scale in quality systems and regulatory submissions, and brings this experience to the AOTI team. During this time Robbie has held various positions within the QA/RA field at senior management level with Puritan Bennett, Tyco Healthcare, eVent Medical Ltd, and Respironics Inc. From an academic perspective, Robbie has an engineering degree in electronics and a master’s degree in reliability systems.

Gerry Coughlan

Vice President of R&D, Operations and Manufacturing

Gerry joined AOTI in 2006 to head up their manufacturing operation in Ireland. He comes from eVent Medical Ltd. where he held the executive position of Manufacturing Director with responsibility for global manufacturing. With his background in electronic engineering Gerry has 18 years of experience in the medical device business with industry market leaders such as Puritan Bennett, Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Mallinckrodt, and eVent Medical. Gerry has also held management positions in the areas of Research & Development and International Service within the medical device industry.

Despi Herodotou

Director of Clinical Development

Despi is a graduate of the University of Westminster, UK where she received her degree in Podiatric Medicine. During her 10 years practicing as a podiatrist in the UK, Despi worked with ethnically diverse populations in both the public and private sector. Since 2005, Despi has worked in clinical research in the US with experience in primary care, neurology, rheumatology and podiatry. In the UK she was the Lead Research Practitioner for the Thames Stroke Research Network working to launch a robust research platform in stroke medicine. Despi has collaborated with AOTI since 2014, demonstrating her wide-ranging knowledge in managing the company’s pivotal Multi-National Double-Blinded Placebo Controlled Randomized Clinical Trial. Despi continues to provide clinical and scientific support both internally and externally, while further developing the expansion of institutions participating in clinical trials.

Kirsten McEvenue

Vice President of Operations and Human Resources

After graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Kirsten started her professional career at an up-and-coming technology company in Chicago where she served in the capacity as a Project Coordinator. While there, Kirsten successfully managed high profile virtual marketing projects for multiple consumer goods companies, effectively managing the framework and communication between client, sales, research, design and technology teams. Kirsten joined the AOTI team in January of 2012 as Marketing and Sales Support Manager where she continued the implementation of a customized rental and accounting program. She has provided crucial support to the company’s representatives in the field, creating multiple procedures and documents to help increase company efficiencies. In November of 2013, Kirsten was promoted to Director of Customer Service and Operations, where she manages the day-to-day operations of AOTI’s customer service and warehouse departments. As a former Division 1 athlete, Kirsten strives for excellence in all aspects of her life.

Stacey Hooks

Director of Operations, NY

Stacey graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in International Business from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has over 9 years of healthcare administrative experience in the medical device industry. Stacey has spent most of her career concentrating on topical oxygen treatment and reimbursement in the state of New York. She joined the AOTI team in 2017 to help launch our NY Medicaid program. Stacey is responsible for managing day to day operations and establishing procedures, as well as overseeing the eligibility, prior authorization, billing, contracting, and collections for our NY Medicaid program. She is also responsible for providing administrative support to our company representatives in the field. A big believer in helping others, Stacey works hard to ensure our patients get the quality care and healing they deserve.

David Bennett

Director of Compliance and Technical Services

David received his Bachelor of Science degree from Christian Heritage College in California where he studied Aeronautics. In addition he is a commercially rated pilot. He then spent 13 years in the Engineering Test and Wind tunnel group at a large aerospace company. Since 1994 David has worked in the medical device industry as a Operation Manager, Quality Engineer, Service Director, and Technical Manager. David joined AOTI in 2010 and in 2014 was promoted to Technical and Inventory Manager, overseeing these activities at both the Oceanside, CA and the Yonkers, NY facilities. In this role he was instrumental in managing the company’s DME accreditation and compliance process. David was promoted to Director of Compliance and Technical Services in January of 2019. As the company’s compliance officer, he is responsible for overseeing all regulatory and supplier standards compliance activities for the organization.

Freddy Schwab

Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Europe

Freddy graduated from university in Germany with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics. He joined the AOTI team in 2003 and has spearheaded the establishment of our European distribution relationships. Prior to AOTI, Freddy was the President of European Sales and Marketing for eVent Medical Ltd from 2000 to 2005. He has also held various sales and engineering positions for a variety of companies including Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Air Liquide, and Toshiba Computing.

Moustafa El-Gohary, MSc, MBA

Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Middle East, Africa, and Asia

Moustafa El-Gohary graduated from the University of London with an MSc in medical electronics & physics, and post-graduate qualifications in equipment management and business administration, and is a member in several regional and international professional bodies in medical devices. Moustafa brings with him over 18 years of experience in the field of marketing and sales, introducing a wide range of critical care medical devices to the Middle Eastern markets. Throughout this period, Moustafa held several management positions for large distribution companies in the Middle East. Moustafa was the Regional Sales Manager for Datascope Patient Monitoring Division in Canada (1998-2003) and the General Manager for VersaMed for Middle East and Africa (GE Health Care Respiratory Care & Sleep Division: 2004-2008).
